The busiest Borivali Station faced disruption due to technical issues in Mumbai leading to delays by the local travellers.
Problem at Borivali Station
On Monday morning, local train services on the Western Railway network faced disruptions. This happened because a cable was cut at Borivali station in Mumbai, according to officials.
Impact on Commuters
Borivali is one of the busiest stations in north Mumbai. A large number of commuters and office-goers use this station every day. Due to the cable issue, suburban trains were not running from platforms 1 and 2.
Train Operations
Trains were still being operated from the other platforms at Borivali station, specifically platforms 3 to 8. The affected points were being identified, and restoration work is in progress as a priority to bring back the operations to normal services.
Western Railway Network
The Western Railway operates more than 1,300 suburban services daily. Around 30 lakh commuters travel on this network, which expands from Churchgate in south Mumbai to Dahanu in Palghar district.
Restoration Efforts
The authorities of the Western Railway assured that work was underway to fix the issue and restore normal train operations as soon as possible. This technical issue at Borivali station caused inconvenience for the daily travellers who depend heavily on the local train services for their transportation. Many passengers faced delays and experienced overcrowding on the operational platforms and trains. Due to this, the Western Railway authorities were quick to respond and initiate restoration efforts.
